Gustav Siale, Deputy Managing Director, holds a Masters degree in Population Studies, Bachelor degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a Diploma (Distinction, won the Scholaristic Award) in Insurance from the West African Insurance Institute. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of U.K. and a member of the Insurance Institute of Ghana,  Gustav, who is also a Barrister at Law, is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.

 

Mr. Siale began his over 24 years’ insurance career with the State Insurance Co. (now SIC Insurance Company) from September 1982 to January 1994 when he joined Ghana Re to start the Research and Statistics Department.  Gustav served in several capacities—Head of Research, General Manager (Technical Operations) and Secretary to the Board of Directors before his appointment in August 2005 as the Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Re.  Subsequently, in January 2006, he was confirmed as the Deputy Managing Director.

 

Gustav is currently the Chairman of the Technical and Education Committee of the Ghana Insurers Association.  He has attended several courses, seminars and conferences on insurance/reinsurance in Africa, Europe and Asia.

 

Mr. Siale loves teaching and has often times served as a resource person on courses organized by the West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII), School of Administration, NBFI Secretariat, and the Management and Productivity Institute (MDPI), Accra.  He currently lectures in Liability Insurance at the University of Ghana Business School on part-time basis.

 

Mr. Gustav Siale who is married with three (3) children, loves reading his Bible, playing table tennis and travelling.
